North Riding Harvest Festival

October 2, 2015

Nearly seventy members of North Riding YCA awoke to the most beautiful of Autumn days and headed off to Helmsley for our third inter-denominational Harvest Festival.

The Chapel looked seasonally colourful with all the Harvest Gifts donated by members; and the altar flower arrangement created by Lynnette, Glenys Rowe’s sister.

During the Service poems were read by Glenys Rowe (The Windmill, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow), Kathy Bryan (Out  in the Fields with God, Elizabeth Barrett Browning); and Alana Barney (our North Riding Chairperson) chose as her poem Sing A Song of Yorkshire written by Mrs Doreen Brigham who is a member of Burnt Yates cum Hartwith YCA..

A season light lunch, made by members of the North Riding Committee, followed the service with everyone sharing the Fellowship and Friendship so enjoyed by all in the North Riding YCA.
